Take a Seat is a collection of ceramic stools by Emilie Coste. The collection spurs from the study of everyday sustenance, the way it reflects light or feels when touched. Clotted cream, pomegranates, scotch bonnets or sugar cubes serve as inspiration to create ambiguous stools. The functional and playful use of Emilie's art, which was inspired by the sculptors and furniture designers, Francois Xavier and Claude Lalanne; is essential to appreciate the three-dimensional aspect of her work – whatever strikes you first, be it the pure aesthetics or functionality, she strives to have both merged into one.
